DIRECTOR, SCREENWRITER AND FILM EDITOR. BORN IN 1991, HE GRADUATED FROM THE NATIONAL I. K. KARPENKO-KARY THEATRE, CINEMA AND TELEVISION UNIVERSITY IN 2014. NIKON IS A LAUREATE OF TWO SCYTHIAN DEER AWARDS FOR BEST FILM IN THE NATIONAL SHORT FILM COMPETITION AT THE MOLODIST FILM FESTIVAL—2014 FOR THE DOCUMENTARY “FACES” AND 2022 FOR THE FICTION FILM “LEOPOLIS NIGHT,” WHICH ALSO RECEIVED THE GOLDEN DUKE AWARD FOR “BEST DIRECTING” AT THE ODESA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL AND PARTICIPATED IN THE SARAJEVO FILM FESTIVAL, GOSHORT IFF, AND BATUMI ART-HOUSE IFF. NOTABLE WORKS INCLUDE THE FICTION SHORT “UNAVAILABLE” (SPECIAL JURY PRIZE AT MOLODIST 2018, WIZART FILM FESTIVAL) AND THE MID-LENGTH FEATURE FILM “TERA” (ODESA IFF 2018, DISCOVERY SCRIPT DOCTORING AWARD AT COTTBUS IFF 2018). PARTICIPATED IN BERLINALE TALENTS. ONE OF THE INITIATORS OF THE CUC “CONTEMPORARY UKRAINIAN CINEMA” AND A MEMBER OF THE UKRAINIAN FILM ACADEMY.
